A 5,000-year-old system,
calculated precisely.
CosmicSelf computes your real Vedic birth chart from astronomical data with Swiss Ephemeris — every planet, house, nakshatra, and dasha. No fortune-telling, no fear. An honest reading of what the sky held at your birth, and you decide what it means.
Where we stand
We're an astrology grounded in astronomy, history, and observation — not theatrics. Your chart is computed from the real positions of the planets at the exact moment and place you were born, using the same Swiss Ephemeris that professional astrologers rely on.
We'll also be honest about something most astrology sites won't say: science has not proven that the sky shapes your life, and we won't pretend it has. But "not proven" is not the same as "false" — it simply means it sits beyond what today's instruments can measure. Humans have recorded these patterns for more than five thousand years. We present that tradition faithfully, calculate it precisely, and let you decide what it means for you.
No fear. No curses to pay off. No promises we can't keep. Just an honest reading of an ancient system — and a clear view of where it ends.
What is Vedic Astrology?
Vedic Astrology — or Jyotish (Sanskrit: "science of light") — is one of the six limbs of the Vedas, India's oldest body of knowledge. Unlike Western astrology which tracks seasonal positions, Jyotish uses the sidereal zodiac — the actual, observable positions of star constellations.
Built on precise astronomical calculations: the exact degree, minute, and second of each planet at the moment and location of your birth. This snapshot — called the Janma Kundali — becomes a structural map of your psychological tendencies, karmic patterns, and life timeline.
Here's what it can — and can't — do. Vedic astrology will not tell you the exact date an event will arrive, and anyone who promises to name the precise day and outcome is selling a certainty that doesn't exist. What it maps is the period you're moving through — your current planetary dasha — and the kind of themes and opportunities that tend to surface within it. Knowing the season, you can prepare for it, act when the window is open, and draw the most benefit from it.
How it actually works
Jyotish operates through a rigorous mathematical framework. Here's the structural logic behind every reading CosmicSelf generates.
Astronomical Snapshot
Your birth date, exact time, and location are used to calculate the precise sidereal positions of the Sun, Moon, and seven classical planets — accurate to fractions of a degree using Swiss Ephemeris.
The 12-House Structure
The birth chart divides the sky into 12 houses, each governing a life domain: body, wealth, communication, home, creativity, health, relationships, transformation, purpose, career, community, liberation.
Planetary Rulership
Each of the 9 Navagrahas rules specific houses and carries intrinsic qualities — directional strength, exaltation and debilitation zones. Their placement determines how each life domain expresses itself for you.
The Nakshatra System
Jyotish divides the zodiac into 27 lunar mansions (Nakshatras), each spanning 13°20'. Your Moon's nakshatra shapes your emotional baseline — a precision Western astrology lacks entirely.
Vimshottari Dasha Timing
A 120-year planetary cycle unique to Vedic astrology. It maps when specific planetary influences activate — turning astrology from a personality sketch into a predictive timeline.
AI Interpretation
CosmicSelf's AI is trained on classical Jyotish texts. It reads your specific chart — not a template — and stays available for conversation about any question you bring to it.
The Navagrahas
Nine planets. Nine forces.
In Jyotish, each celestial body corresponds to measurable phenomena — electromagnetic fields, gravitational effects, and biological cycles observed over millennia.
Grounded in real astronomy
Vedic astrology grew out of careful sky-watching, and parts of that foundation are plain, measurable astronomy. We'll show you exactly what's real — and we won't dress up what isn't.
Gravitational & Tidal Forces
The Moon's gravity drives Earth's ocean tides every day — a large, precisely predictable astronomical effect. That the Moon physically pulls on Earth is settled science; whether it shapes individual lives is not.
Solar Activity & Earth
Sunspots and solar flares measurably disturb Earth's magnetic field and can disrupt satellites and power grids. The Sun visibly affects our planet — which is part of why ancient sky-watchers tracked it so closely.
Circadian & Seasonal Rhythms
Human biology runs on light-dark cycles set by Earth's position relative to the Sun. Our sleep, mood, and seasonal patterns are genuinely tied to where Earth sits in its orbit.
Precession of the Equinoxes
Earth's axis slowly wobbles over roughly 26,000 years. The sidereal zodiac accounts for this real motion — which is why Vedic positions differ from the seasonal Western wheel.
Where the science stops
Real astronomy can tell us where the planets were when you were born. It cannot, today, prove that those positions shape your personality or your future — and no honest astrologer should claim otherwise. What follows from the chart is interpretation drawn from a long observational tradition, not laboratory fact. We give you both the precise calculation and that honest distinction, so you can judge it for yourself.
